RapNet Tableau Redesign: UX/UI Case Study Summary

Project Overview: A comprehensive UX/UI redesign of complex Tableau data accelerators into a sleek, high-end SaaS product experience tailored to RapNet (the global diamond trading network by Rapaport) and the brand ecosystem.

Problem Statement: Standard Tableau dashboards suffered from high cognitive load, heavy visual clutter (borders, dense gridlines, and rigid default styling), and a lack of brand alignment with RapNet’s clean, professional interface standards.

Design Objectives:

  • De-cluttering & Information Architecture: Stripping away unnecessary visual noise and establishing a rigorous visual hierarchy to emphasize primary Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) over secondary data points.

  • Design System Integration: Translating RapNet’s core brand identity—featuring sophisticated dark burgundy/red accents, clean typography, and minimalist spacing—into a cohesive component library.

  • Data Visualization & Scannability: Refactoring dense matrix tables and loud heatmaps into clean, modular data cards with progressive disclosure patterns (such as expandable rows and contextual drill-downs) for better data accessibility.

  • Interaction & Filtering: Streamlining global and local filters into intuitive, low-friction control panels to improve data querying efficiency for high-intent B2B users and analysts.
